President Barack Obama Inauguration: A Remarkable day!

As most Americans I watched in awe and silence the inauguration of the the first African American President, Barack Obama. What a remarkable day this is for our country and all the citizens of the world. How far we have come as a nation and how far we have come as a people. We can only hope and pray that this will be a turning point for our country to move forward again. We can only hope and pray that this is a turning point for peace and prosperity. Most of all we can only hope that this is now the beginning of hope again.

With the exuberance of the moment I am struck by one continuing concern regarding the hope brought by a single man. We cannot operate on the hope and the promise and the ability of one person. We can only operate as a people and as a nation and through the lead and example of thousands of people that lead us on so many levels everyday. These are the public servants! The many people that set aside their personal needs and goals to think of our needs and dreams and those folks span the country and the globe and they are so much bigger than any one person. They embrace the commonality of God and the wishes from above and they cannot be measured by a speech or a celebrity or a song. Therefore let us not forget that whatever greatness that President Barack Obama has or will achieve that he is in fact another one of Gods children (like you and me) and he is most of all a public servant.

Celebrities are in our movies and television shows, sports and music and apparently now in politics. But we create a great danger for all of us when we make our President and our number one public servant our number one celebrity. We diminish the needs of people that count on our government to function properly when we "celebretize" our leaders in such a fashion that we forget who they really are. Barack Obama is the President of the United States. He is your president and he is my President and he is an employee of the people. He may be a celebrity but he is not a celebrity. Let's give Barack Obama all the respect he deserves and has earned as our 44th President of the United States, but let's not make him our commander and chief celebrity. He has enough to do and to live up to and a legacy that will outlast any single event.

Our job is to cover celebrities. That is what we do at Celebrity Wire. We cover Celebrity News and Entertainment. We will cover Barack Obama and we realize that today he is the worlds biggest celebrity. But we hope that tomorrow he will become less of a celebrity and more our needed President. That Barack Obama will from this point be more our nations leader and less our entertainment.

Today we celebrate a momentous occasion and tomorrow we go back to a nation of many issues. Today and everyday at Celebrity Wire we will enjoy Celebrity. We hope that for every ones sake that President Barack Obama's future celebrity will be that of peace and prosperity and love.

God Bless You,

The Celebrity Wire CEO and

Kate Winslet, Heath Ledger and Slumdog Millionaire

As we mentioned the late Heath Ledger was a favorite at the Golden Globes and he won for best supporting actor. We will certainly miss his talent in the future. Kate Winslet won the daily double for leading and supporting roles and once again shows why she is a continual acting force. I personally thought that the performance by Angelina Jolie in "The Changeling" was deserving of an award. No surprise for me on "Slumdog Millionaire". I have been telling friends and family since the day the movie premiered that this film would win best picture at the " Golden Globe Awards" and the "Oscars" and last night it swept the categories it was nominated for including "Best Picture". If you haven't heard of Slumdog Millionaire before or haven't thought of seeing it then I would highly recommend changing some plans and going soon. Mickey Rourke is the come back adult of the year with a best acting statue. It remains to be seen whether he can mature into a normal individual long enough to maintain the stardom that he now has a chance of achieving. He is certainly a talented actor and I hope this time his demons don't overshadow that immense future potential and talent. As expected the Hollywood Foreign Press pulled off another great Golden Globe Awards!

Golden Globe Awards & Hollywood Foreign Press

The 66th Golden Globes Awards is back tonight and it should be as good as or better than ever! This special is the Hollywood event of the year for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and it always brings out the A list celebs. Fortunately there is not a writers strike this year and we are back to all the glitter and glamour of awards season. The power and beauty couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are nominated for awards this year. Heath Ledger (who was so fabulous in the Batman movie "The Dark Knight") is nominated and his family is very excited and proud and he is a favorite to win for best actor in a supporting role. Tom Cruise, Ralph Fiennes, Robert Downey Jr, and Philip Seymour Hoffman are up for the same award and are all great! The very special Cecil B. DeMille Award, which will be given to Steven Spielberg, for his "outstanding contribution to the entertainment field", and of course that is well deserved. I understand Ann Hathaway (who is choosing her dates carefully this year) is coming with her lovely mother. Meryl Streep is going after awards for both "Mama Mia" and "Doubt". Overall this should be an amazing Golden Globes show and we at Celebrity Wire give the Hollywood Foreign Press high praise for this event and all the great work they do all year long!

So Thanks to the Hollywood Foreign Press and good luck to all the great Stars!!!

Bravo TV is a great place to watch; not to buy

I like the shows on Bravo TV and I think overall it is a pretty cool network. The shows on Bravo are somewhat innovative and they have a unique sense of marketing savvy. In fact someone very near and dear to me likes "Top Chef" a lot. For the holidays I decided to buy her some kitchen equipment and top it off with a full chefs coat from the show; Top Chef. I went to Bravo.com and gladly paid the $79.95 price for a monogrammed "Top Chef" kitchen jacket. I ordered it for two day delivery and two days came and went and it never came. Christmas and the holidays came and went and the Bravo TV order never came. In fact it took 18 e-mails from us before we even received a canned response. The bottom line is we never received the
Top Chef
order and we also were charged and have not received a refund yet after another series of unanswered e-mails. So my personal opinion is to watch Bravo TV but I would not order at the Bravo TV online store!

Jett Travolta is now in heaven

As reported by the Associated Press this evening John Travolta's teenage son, Jett, died in the Bahamas after falling ill and hitting his head at his family's vacation home. As a father I personally can't think of anything worse than living longer than my children. Everyone at Celebrity Wire extends their sincerest condolences to the Travolta family. John Travolta and Kelly Preston are fellow Florida residents and they are loved in the entertainment industry and as people in the community. They have done so much for others and charity and they truly do not deserve this deep unhappiness. I hope the media will extend them the privacy and courtesy they deserve. We are sure that your beautiful son is in heaven and that God has a special plan. Our hearts and prayers go out to your entire family.
